European research and development project “Circular Approaches for the Built Environment“

Zurich, April 23, 2025

As part of a European research and development project, the companies Circular Hub, pom+, Eberhard, and re-x will jointly conduct research over the next three years under the leadership of SGNI, exploring solutions for the development and implementation of the circular economy in the construction industry.

"The main goal of the project is to develop the foundations necessary to protect large volumes of building materials—produced with high embodied energy—from ending up in landfills. By creating a cadastre-based approach, a traceability mechanism, and a synergistic market for reused materials, urban regions will be relieved, while the upgrading of these materials will simultaneously create new local jobs and stimulate growth.“

We look forward to working together on this important topic and to pooling the expertise of the practical partners in finding solutions.
